favorites to give & to get: Jenna

One of our biggest fans has put together a list of her favorites to give, and maybe even to get under her own tree, this year. What can we say? We think she has great taste (and in her words “…and these are a few of my favorite things!!!!” *insert frolicking here.*) Thanks Jenna!

Ok it wasn’t an easy task but I’ve narrowed it down to my top picks for holiday gifts and I have everyone covered. There’s nothing wrong with “one for you, one for me” is there? Didn’t think so.

I couldn’t just pick one piece from this collection; I love it all! Edgy or sweet, anyone would love one of these original pieces. I’m picking up the Maple Wing necklace for myself and the Rose ring for my best friend (yes, she’s worth it!).

I don’t know about you, but I really like giving hostess gifts that will be put to use right away! The teacup candles caught my eye for just this reason. The soy wax means they’ll burn for a long time so I’ll be remembered fondly for ages! They also make a great stocking stuffer. Check that one off the list too.

For that person in my life who is oh-so-practical I’m picking up one of the reusable tote bags. I love these for all of the extra pockets and the fact that they hold A LOT. This one comes with me everywhere.

I’ve even managed to pick up the perfect gift for a special guy in my life who always loves a deal! Green Zebra Guide to the rescue (Confession: I’m snagging the body politic coupon out of it. After I ask nicely, of course!) I know he’ll love it.

A piece from Nixxi is also going under the tree. The batwing top is one of my favorites and the fit is easy! I won’t mention names but someone is going to be very happy to see this with their name on it.

And just for good measure I’m going to add one more thing that I would love to have waiting for me under the tree. *hint* That’s the envelope clutch all the way from New York City! It’s an essential to my wardrobe that I can’t believe I’m missing. How is it possible that I don’t have a little black clutch? I love the hardware on this one – it means business.

don’t fret, there’s still time yet!

This post is dedicated to all the lovely boyfriends and husbands who might be a tiny bit behind in their holiday shopping. It happens! No judgement.

We think we can steer you in the right direction choosing a gift, but if you’re just not sure then a body politic gift card can come to the rescue. If you love her style, why not let her choose?!

The gift card can be made for any denomination and never expires. She’ll be happy and your shoulders will relax. All good!

We hope you can join us tomorrow (Friday) night at 7PM for the official Christmas Tree lighting for Main Street’s O Christmas Tree event. We will be lighting up our tree at 7 on the dot and will have some delicious holiday treats to keep the festivities going.

We will be open until 8PM for extended holiday hours. Don’t forget that if you bring a donation for the food bank you’ll receive 10% off any regular priced items (yes even new arrivals & yoga jeans!)

It always feels a little bit like christmas for us as we keep getting fabulous new shipments! Here are a few more ideas on giving “green” and giving with a conscience this season, just how we like it!

Nixxi was a new addition for us this season and it seems like we all fell in love with it right away! The fringe wrap top is flattering on so many body types and is so versatile. We’re guessing if you gift this, the “thanks!” will just keep coming.

Fairly safe to say anyone would love to be bundled up in this cowl neck hoodie this season and into the next. The tunic length is great for layering. What more can we say? Maybe that it’s incredibly soft and it’s the first thing you want to put on-every day!

new designer: aime

We are introducing another amazing Canadian designer from Toronto!

Aime (pronounced EM) is a contemporary eco line which has been given rave reviews. Designer Monica Mei was even interviewed by one of the favorite voices in the fashion world, Jeanne Beker. (See the clip here)

Aime’s “Seasonless” collections concept is a fantastic way to build your wardrobe with timeless pieces that work all year round.

event: anniversary sale

It seems too good to be true but we’re counting down the days until our first anniversary! As a ‘thank you’ for all the support you’ve shown us over the past year we have special markdowns: Thieves, Snoflake, Elroy, Perfectly Imperfect, Stewart & Brown….the list goes on!

If you missed out on the Taiga wrap tops the first time around you’re in luck!

We were able to get a few more sizes…but very few, so if you had your heart set on it don’t wait. The fabric is a wool and tencel blend making it lightweight yet warm. Perfect for these chilly temperatures we’re starting to feel.
